Can anyone who has been on the Barclays BL due to an old BK tell me if there is any sign of hope if you didnt get an instant decline? I filed BK 15 years ago and they were IIB but in the past when I have tried it has been instant decline. This time I got the below under review message. Its been like an hour I checked the status and still under review. Is there any hope?

With Barclays it's almost always a decline.
Just to update i called and got emailed today and decline. The BL is permanent..period.

Sorry but ya their BL is pretty much permanent think or only read of 1 or 2 that have ever gotten off of it. Store cards they offer are easier and few people have had luck with that route

I feel your pain... I burned them 20+ years ago on a Juniper Mastercard and I've come to accept that they'll never forget. Back-in-the-day I really wanted the (now discontinued) Sallie Mae card but it was always out of reach.
Not that I'm bitter or blame them - I understand it's a business decision - but I'm in a very different place now. Thankfully there are plenty of other banks to do business with, and at the risk of sounding like "sour grapes" these days Barclays offerings aren't the most attractive, anyway. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

+1
A couple of years ago when I heard that Banana Republic was moving from Synchrony to Barclays I considered using it as a 'back door' to get back into Barclays, but decided against it.
I didn't want to 'poke' Synchrony unnecessarily, but mostly I just don't value a possible relationship with Barclays enough to even bother.
Every couple of months, I app for a random Barclays credit card to see if Im still on their No Fly List. No go so far. I too am a Juniper alumni class of 2009 or so
I would love to get the Carnival Cruise MC. Rewards are meh but I think its one of the prettiest cards out there
