I have never had a credit card before and was wondering which ones I should apply for first. I have been reading reviews about people getting approved for barclays mastercard and cap one QS with lower credit scores. My scores are: TU 509 EQ 467 EX 459. I was just added as an authorized user on a cap one QS card and has not reported to credit bureaus yet.
Are there any other cards that are easy to get approved for with people with limited credit history?
Just figuring out what cards to apply for when I decide my credit score is at a decent point and might get approved for something.
Thanks!
Unfortunately, I don't think you will get approved for an unsecured Barclays or Capital one at this time. What is on you CR that is causing your scores to be low? Is it no credit or bad credit?
Either way, I think you may have to start with a secured card. Go to Capital One and see if you prequalify. Let us know how it works out.

The Rewards card is the easiest card to get in the Barlcays lineup and the Platinum is the easiest card to get in the Capital One lineup.
With your present score you are unlikely to be approved for either, so you should wait until you have some history on the AU account and your scores, hopefully, improve.

Should I try to pay off my accounts in collection or just leave them be? I haven't been able to figure out what to do about those.

Yes you should try to pay off everything in collection

Does it matter if I pay my accounts in collections partially over a period of a couple of months or should I just save up and pay off each one in full?

You should make payment arrangements with those you can't pay off so that they don't take further action.

When you call to make arrangements, see if they will delete once paid. That will be a huge help.
I will keep that in mind. Hopefully they will delte them from my report. I'm sure that will help my score.
