Ugh Comenity 7-10 day. It may be identity verification or it might be denial. They make you wait to get the letter, only then will they speak to you regurgitate what the computer says. Goodluck and keep us posted!
People...
the Comenity "7-10" day message doesn't mean denial. They are VERIFICATION HAPPY!!!! The "letter" will be a 50/50 chance of verification or denial. If denial you are SOL, they DO NOT RECON.
If the letter is "verification", it will give you a number to call, and they will ask you for the verification application # on the letter. 9/10, when they verify you after the letter, its an approval!
Barney's is Comenity Capital Bank (versus regular Comenity). Still trying to figure out the difference between the two, they are affiliated but are separate divisions. From what I understand Comenity Capital is a little harder to get in with. Comenity Capital has Barney's, Good Sam/ Camping World Visa, and Virgin America Visa.
I got approved for Barney's same day I applied, but I agree with Pizza, the 7-10 day message with Comenity is not always a negative thing.
Many credit cards are becoming more focused on verification these days, and it can be triggered by soemthing as little as you putting "21 West Jones" instead of "21 W Jones St" on your application if the credit bureau listing differs slightly.
When I applied for Macy's and Bloomingdale's, I had to verify because they swore up and down that I once had a home phone number ending in 4626. I told them I'd had the same phone numbers for 9 years and even prior to that never had a phone number ending in 4626. The ended up calling me on my current phone number to verify and were fine afetr about 5 minutes of back and forth over the phone number.
Never did find out what the 4626 business was about - no one I know has such a number.

Random: Add Overstock to that list. Noticed it at the bottom of the screen when I went to my account page.
Keep both your credit and your body in top shape!

Ditto for me.
Sorry jborgs. Chin up, keep up the hard work and try again in 6 months!
Add Fuel Rewards Network Mastercard to the Comenity Capital list too, for those who are interested.
