Best Buy “2 week” reply

My TV decided to die today so I applied for a Best Buy card. Fill out all the info, hit submit and receive the “your application needs further processing. You should receive a decision in 2 weeks” message. It’s not the 7-10 days almost always a Denial message. But not sure if that’s a good sign or not.

In my experience Citi retail cards pull Equifax. Scores aren’t everything.how many inquiries do you have, what is your utilization, current cards and limits?

Best Buy CC's are backed by Citi. They are a bit sensitive I have noticed. Inquiries, credit used vs available, payment history, etc. I would recon and see whats going on.

Scores - All bureaus 770 +
TCL - Est. $410K

OP, unfortunately this might be a denial.

Typically, Citi's retail CCs aren't known for successful reconsiderations. You can definitely try, but I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Denied because of “number of recently open accounts.” I opened a Ritz Carlton card in June and a card for tire shop at the beginning of July so I could put tires on my vehicle
