Chase sapphire double dip bonus?

A friend of mine was explaining to me that they did a 'double dip' with the  CSP and CSR credit cards. I've read a little about this and I'm considering trying this myself but I don't quite understand the rewards with this. It says the CSR gives a $300 rebate for travel expenses if you spend over $300 but then I read that you can receive $600 in travel rebates, but I didn't understand how they came up with that.

My family and I are traveling international in November, cost will be around $2200 (I'm hoping ticket prices will go down a little bit more..thats why I haven't made the purchase yet).

If I use the CSR for my travel cost and spend $4000 on each card, CSR & CSP, all in 3 months, can someone explain a bit more in detail as to what type of cash back this would be? I'm curious if this is worth it because of the annual fee for the CSR.

I don't frequently fly except once a year (sometimes every other year) international to visit family.

Re: Chase sapphire double dip bonus?

I’m not sure it’s possible anymore to get the bonus on both the CSR and CSP as a double dip. I could be wrong but they are considered in the same product family and chase has the language regarding that. But again it may still be possible.

CSR gives an annual $300 travel credit applied as a statement credit for travel related charges.

The 50K points is worth $625 minimum on travel for the CSP and $750 minimum for travel on the CSR. The points can be worth more if transfered to travel partners.

The CSR is geared towards travel but chase points are flexible and can be worth 1CPP for cash value. But at a $150 net annual fee there are better no AF cards out there such as the Uber card if your after cash back.

The CSR offers a slew of travel insurance and priority pass access. Both things you would need to travel a fair bit to help recoup the annual fee.

It will come down to how much chase points are worth to you and your spend and future plans. It’s a steep annual fee for someone that won’t use its benefits to help recover the cost.

Re: Chase sapphire double dip bonus?

The CSP+CSR double-dip is a known loophole that I've been alluding to on this site for a while and a couple of other site members or their player 2 have recently done it successfully.  If you meet the spend requirements ($8K in 3 months) on both cards you'll collect both SUB.   There is a writeup on the web on the recommended process to follow to apply, but a brief synopsis is that you apply for the CSR early on a weekday, call in for recon if not immediately approved, then when approved immediately apply for the CSP.  The trick is to apply for and get approval for both on the same day.

Chase SUB and rewards do not come as cashback, but as Ultimate Rewards (UR) points, which you can redeem for cash or as pseudo-currency on Chase' portal.  This link will introduce you to their rewards system:

+1 And to add to this my GF double dipped on the CSP/CSR last month and was approved for both. There are datapoints on the churning reddit as well supporting this as well. Like coldfusion said if you can reach the $8k/3 months spend it's well worth it.
