Best Buy Citi Card

Just applied online, maybe I should have done it in store. Got an instant we could no approve you notification. Called the back door number and they said I have to wait for the letter to come in. Any one else have experience with that?

Just got approved for $24,000 with Chase 2 months ago, and $5,000 with Pier 1. And got a CLI Increase with BoA from $1,000 to $7,500. Not sure if Citi just doesn't like me or even just the regular BB Card. Never had an account with either one.

Re: Best Buy Citi Card

Sounds like possibly denied due to inquiries or new accounts maybe. Give it some time.

Re: Best Buy Citi Card

Strange. Best Buy/citi was the very first cc company to approve me for a card after the economic collapse of 08/09. When I applied for the card online, I got an error when I hit submit so I called in and the lady said there was no record of my application. So she asked me some questions, put me on hold and came back with a $1,000 approval. My scores were in the toilet then.

My guess is that they are inquiry sensitive

ALL new credit cards trigger a hard inquiry so a score drop in this case is not a Best Buy issue. It is a result of the inquiry on your credit report which the scoring model uses in scoring calculations.

Unfortunately, Best But also does a hard inquiry if you request a CLI. I was not told this when I made my CLI request so be forewarned.

Oh I know that a score drop can happen when you get a new account. I just meant that my scores were in the toilet in general when I first got the card. I've had my BB card for nearly two years. I wasnt forewarned about the HP for cli either. :/

Yeah I did the CLI and got denied but this card will be in the draw, paid it off since the rewards are no use to me, dont shop at best buy the stuff they have is pricey cheaper at other places but guess during the holiday maybe eve then maybe not. TBH if you don't shop at the best buy not worth it. just my two cents

Re: Best Buy Citi Card

Best Buy actually price matches, and their protection plan is worth the price.

But getting CLI is hard.
