Hi @Anonymous, the thread you replied to was quite old and much of the information is likely outdated so I've moved your question to a new thread.

Back when HSBC was in charge of the card, Best Buy employees had an application site internally which was almost a guaranteed approval. HSBC and Best Buy believed the employees would do a better job of promoting the financing if they had it themselves.

That was a long time ago. Since then, Capital One took over and now Citibank is who handles the card. Anything that had to do with HSBC other than the accounts were not carried over when Capital One took over. Capital One and Citibank both held/hold denied applications for 6 months. It sounds like you want to recon. That wouldn't be possible anymore. Recons should be done within 30 days of denial to avoid another hard pull. At this point, you need to reapply normally.

I think BB is backed by Citi since their Master card is a Citi card. I would go for the Citi if given a choice since it is a way in to them if you havent had one in the past. Also the will give 10% store credit back for your first major purchase which could be several hundred dollars based on what you buy. They are also very generous with their auto CLIs.
