Some people just want the plain jane redemption values for cash. We don't all constantly travel, in fact I would say a minority of credit card holders are constantly travelling around the world.
I didn't say there was an "infraction", there wasn't, people can share their viewpoints, absolutely. People can also share the counter-viewpoint which is that there is too much emphasis on maximizing points for travel when people have not asked about such a thing. The OP asked about rewards for dining, nothing about how to eek out the most value from points by travelling. That was my point, but no hard feelings, everyone is free to share a viewpoint, that's the point of a forum.
And my point is, that every post that casually mentions that higher redemption rates exist (and does not include judgmental overtones for redeeming in non-highest value fashion) should not have to come with a disclaimer that this tip may not be of value to everyone. That's simply common sense. That'd be like if one had to include a disclaimer while recommending a good car for someone , a disclaimer that obviously the advice would not apply if one does not drive.
"Honda is a really good car if you're looking for a solid, not too expensive reliable car.
Oh, but wait, disregard that advice completely if you don't drive."
You're right in that it was probably overkill for me to mention it here. I supposed it becomes habit after many of the posts do contain a judgemental tone of "why didn't you maximize your points!?"
But yeah, sorry if it wasn't needed here ![]()

It's ok. I have my own hypersensitive issues too, lol.
Thanks TMWC!
That's a pretty rocking card from SSFCU; was looking at doing some swappage in my credit card portfolio and since it wouldn't be a difficult two step to get into there through the front door; double bonus if I do wind up going back to Texas sometime in the future.
