There are better options, Like a Citi DoubleCash or Sallie Mae from Barclaycard.

no way we can answer that. each situation different. travel a lot? lots of groceries or gas. ?/ many utilies. it all depends. Discover is good at times. at other times not great. thats when cap one comes into play. sallie mae no good for me because it is capped. 250 on gas a month. i go thru 2k a month on gas. no way. hence lower percentage but overall more money back. it depends on you. a little research will reveal what is best for you. good luck.
@nixon. looking at your profile. you've been quite busy. pm me on what you did on that eq?? thanks taxi . i even see your tu. i understand. but eq i don't
Here is a good list of cash back cards. It will give you a good idea of many popular spending categories.

My signature contains my cards, so you can see what my priorities are.
You wil also want a non-category card for misc spending.
Well for instance right now freedom is on Starbucks movie theaters and Groceries (do people really spend $1500 on Starbucks and movies !?) discovers categories this month is gas which I would use to the max , my bofa cash is always 321 not rotating this rotating stuff ticks me off !
Quicksilver is a perfectly good general spending card with no hassle redemptions and instant rewards.
Double Cash is also great for general spend, just a bit more complex. 1% as you buy, 1% as you pay. $25 minimum to redeem.
They're both good options. I don't hate Capital One as much as many do on here. They've solved any issue I had, albeit through the EO, but honestly, you have to use the EO for many things with Citi too.

For straight up value though, the DoubleCash wins. By as much as 33%.
Of course the Double Cash is better for actual value, yes. "best" is subjective though and subjectively, I find the DC structure and redemption to be more of a hassle than QS so to me it's not the "best", but still very good. Quicksilver is more user friendly and straightforward with the rewards, so I like it and for my level of spend really it is not a big difference
