My brother has a bestbuy store card that he has had for about 5-6 years. Never asked for a CLI as he currently has a $3500 limit. If u ask for a CLI online is it a HP or SP? He says he isn't worried about having a big limit on it as he only has a $250 balance on it currently that he is gonna pay off in the next month or so. He just suggested that if the credit line was around $5k-$7k he wouldn't mind since he feels like he has earned that. Just wanted to ask and pass along the info to him!

HP. Best Buy store & MC cards are both now administered by Citi Bank, andf they HP for every CLI, and never seem to auto CLI. Back when it was administered by Capital One I got a doubling CLI from them with a SP. Last fall I asked for another doubling CLI and Citi approved it with a HP.
I have a couple accounts with citi. Best buy will be a hard pull. I'm in a similar situation. Never received a auto cli and when i go online on the bottom of the screen for cli it cays citi will pull your credit information.
Thanks for the info guys! I think he is gonna request an increase since he hasn't gotten one so I wanted to check on the SP/HP and if it was better to do online or the phone.
hp, i would do it online
