Re: Bloomingdales Amex CLI grrrr

@Jnbmom because of you I went ahead and tried for a cli on Macy's and you're right, more action in a shorter timeframe it appears.  I may close Bloomies...don't need it and would rather focus on just the one.  I closed HD and Diamond Preferred, I do have some Citi Biz but not sure if that affects my personal exposure or not.  If it does I will probably close the Citi biz accts. I don't use.

Do you know if Personal and Business is separate or not when it comes to total exposure?

Have you ever called in for a cli on Macy's or Bloomies?  Or do you only do it when it's online sp?  I can't remember.  I have to call every time.

@GApeachy, I would not worry about total Citi exposure, until you hit a wall.

I have quite a bit, and still getting CLI's .. JMHO

@M_Smart007  Lol, but some peeps walls are knee walls....hahaha, like mine! Smiley Very Happy You can sit on mine and look up at yours, still get a kink in your neck. Smiley Tongue

I may just let bloomies marinate like you @Jnbmom for 6 months too while letting this crazy economy get a little sure footed.  Sistah, are you gonna try calling in at all?  All my denials say things that aren't very nice but I still call, sometimes we laugh...at me.  It doesn't hurt to try.

@GApeachy,

LOL  ... Make sure if you can? .. to put a little spend here and there on the Blooming Bloomie's card.

It seems to me, cant get a CLI without some spend.

Re: Bloomingdales Amex CLI grrrr

Sorry to hear you guys are having issues.Smiley Sad May have to do with you being granted such large CLI's at the onset? Don't know.  I've been chugging away on both cards at 1.5k/month without issue. As of last month 13k Bloomies, 14k Macys.

I did find that the cards do play off each other. On my third attempt (Apr 15), I asked first on Macy's, was approved and then immediately tried Bloomies and was denied. It had worked the last 2 times back to back but no more. The denial reason: "Total amount of recent credit limit increase requests with us or an affiliate."

A month later on May 12 (2 mos since last CLI) I tried Bloomies, approved! Waited a few days for Macy's (May 16), approved !  That is now my system, Bloomies first then Macy's. The next approvals were June 13 and June 17, July 16 and July 18, Aug 17 and Aug 19 respectively. I always ask for the same 5k which they counteroffer to 1.5k. Oh, and I don't have any other Citi/Citi-Retail cards.

As previously suggested maybe you just need to wait some time and try again? As an example, if the amount of your last approved CLI was approx 6k, that would be 4 mos of the minimum. So give it a go at month 4 and see if you have better results. Or, hold off on Macy's for 3-4 months then try Bloomies? I wonder if the system may have suspended the Blooms increases because of the initial large Macy's CLI's. The only way to know for sure is to create your own little experiment. It's all SPs so no harm in testing. GL!

Re: Bloomingdales Amex CLI grrrr

Honestly, I really got it because I thought it would be like macys and grow quickly , but so far it not moving at all I realize we are in different times now, and lines might be harder to get increased.

I will just sit on it for awhile and if macys continues to grow I will probably close it once it hits a year. It is fine I kinda prefer macys anywaySmiley Happy
