Bloomingdales CLI Help

Hello, I tried to request a CLI for my Macy's and Bloomingdales credit cards online yesterday. I got a message to call in for both. I called Macy's and after verification, increased from $600 to $1500 (should have asked for more! Grrrr...) Next, I called Bloomingdales, as they do both cards. I wish I realized that when I was doing the first one. I was told I had an alert on my credit and that I needed to call all the bureaus!!!! I have never placed a fraud alert on my credit report. I'm a mortgage underwriter and am fully aware of what they are. I'm concerned because I know I didn't do this. I called again today and was told the same thing. Why would Bloomies say this but not Macy's? And has anyone gone through this? I have no idea what to do. Lol. I even bought and my reports yesterday and didn't see anything?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Bloomingdales CLI Help

Without knowing your history, I can state that credit bureaus can on their own place fraud alerts on your file for you. This is nornally done when you try to correct your credit report by saying that someone gained unauthoried acces to one of your accounts or someone tried to open an account using your info. If you dont want the alerts on your file, you can simply google each CRA for their fraud alert removal and they will be gone within minutes.  Good luck

Re: Bloomingdales CLI Help

Thanks the response. No, I have never had issues with my credit like that. The only thing that's changed in the past 2 years is my last name. I got married in 2015. Not sure if that has to do with it. I will work on the googling now. Thank you again!
