Bloomingdales CLI and Upgrade Request

I chatted online and submitted AGAIN for my Bloomingdales Card to add the American Express (30 day processing time given).

Then she transferred me to another department to chat for a CLI

Not sure what in the world she was doing as it took her over 20 minutes! (mind you this is ina chat window too!!)

and after all that DECLINED!

If your CLI was declined then chances are the Bloomie's AMEX may not come to fruition.  IIRC, you applied a while ago for the upgrade and were not approved, right?

From what I remember, Bloomie's is a bit more strict with UW than their Macy's CCs (even though they are the same issuing partner bank).  Maybe the wind will blow in your direction?

Oh, I had no idea!  I only remember the one time.  Well, you had no issue getting the furniture line so maybe it's possible they may approve this time?  Well, keep us posted.

What's odd is they always send me EQ when they deny the Amex but macys and blokmies pull exclusively EX for all I have ever known!

Question- is this really considered an upgarde or do they do an HP? I thought Bloomingdales considered it an actual new card app (at least, from what they told me)
