Hello! I'm new so I hope this is in the correct category. Anyways, I'm sick of the $500 CL on my BoA travel rewards card. Granted it's the student version and at the time I was on a credit spree so the meager limit isn't too shocking. This is the anniversary month for the card, and as of right now it's fully paid off and I've used it pretty heavy so far; up to about 90% utilization at once in the chance that matters to them. I paid this month about a day late because I simply forgot, I just paid the late fee and moved on.
I've been wanting a higher limit and instead of applying for a new card I thought I should just increase a credit limit. I've been gardening since I got the ED Amex card last April and have paid off all my cards (latest food purchases notwithstanding), really just waiting for them to report back to the bureaus and that will boost my score I'm sure. Current TU is 709, but I still have the same income as when I applied for the card.
So essentially I am wondering, should I go for a CLI manually or is BoA receptive to auto CLI (especially since it's my card's anniversary)? I will probably wait until the bureaus show my lower CU. And based on the details do you think it's worth a shot or do you have a different recommendation? This is my lowest limit on any card with the highest being my Amazon prime rewards card from Chase at $2k that's a year old. Thank you!
With BOA you are better off just requesting the increase if you feel your profile can support it. Although BOA occasionally does auto CLIs, the key word is "occasionally" and if a CLI is important to you it's more efficient to ask.
