BoA Custom Cash Denied

I'm two and a half years out from being ready to buy a house. Decided to take a shot at filling out my wallet with a rewards card covering some areas I'm missing since I see this as the last chance for a hard pull before buying a house. I saw a few threads where people got approvals from BoA with a BK still reporting. There are other threads saying BoA isn't BK friendly and that the "pre-approval" page isn't a reliable indicator that you will be approved. Got an immediate rejection after getting recommeded the card from the pre-approval page.

pre-approval page with bofa is just marketing and suggestions of cards unless a firm apr is given even then nothing is guaranteed.  I am guessing it just suggested a card with an apr range.  BofA doesn't have a true pre-approval page.  Occasionally if you have bank accounts with them they will have offers for you with firm terms.

Sorry to hear about your denial. Sometimes those pre-approval tools are just not reliable. Have you considered calling and trying to recon?

No dice on the recon. The rep said my application could not be reconsidered with a BK reporting.

No worries. I'm back in the garden till I buy a house. By that time, it won't be long before the BK ages off or I might just wait an extra year so it ages off before I apply for a mortgage.
