BoA: Pre-Approval to Combine, or CLI?

I've had the BoA Cash Rewards card for a few months now, with a SL of $2000. I figure it is far too soon to request a CLI, so I was messing around with their pre-approval process, and they show an offer for another Cash Rewards card. I am wondering if you guys think it's wiser to apply for a pre-approval card, wait some time and combine limits, or wait to request a CLI.

If you recommend the combine route, should I look for a pre-approval for a travel card, as they sometimes seem to have slightly higher SL than other cards? Also, I've read that applying for more than one pre-approval card at once is also a good idea, as BoA will group them under one HP. With that in mind, should I app for a few, and combine them all?

As always, thanks for the advice!

IMO I would wait 6 months before you do anything.  At 6 months you can request a CLI and BOA is known to be pretty generous.  And those preapprovals, make sure they have specific APR's not ranging.  You stand a better chance with specific APR preapprovals.
