Boa cli...should I do it?

I need some advice, I currently hold 4 credit cards and received cli on 2 of them in the last 6 months. The most recent was the 3x on my Amex blue, bringing my limit to $20,700, however it's not yet reporting my new limit. In may I took a hp and raised my limit on my chase freedom from  $4,400 to $10,000.  The only card with a balance which I'm actively paying down is my boa card, my limit is 5,200 utilizing 71% however, my overall utilization is 16%.

Should I pull the trigger and request a cli on my boa card to help reduce my utilization on that card? If so do I do it before or after Amex reports?  My scores on all 3 reports hover around 700 and my household income is in the low 6 figures and each report has 1 inquiry each.

I look forward to hearing your input.

I'm not sure on how BOA reacts to high utilization when it comes to CLI's, somebody else will need to address that aspect. But you should definitely wait until the new limit on your Amex reports.

Pay it down, let other limits report, and then request a CLI.

Re: Boa cli...should I do it?

I recently received an auto CLI from BOA. My balance was over $400 of a $500 limit for months. I always carried a balance but I also made several panera monthly.

BOA is not too keen on high balances, they may tell you that you have enough for what you need or you don't make large enough payments. however though if you do make large payment then they may just give it to you.
