As mentioned aboive you will definitely take 2 inquiries for 2 applications, but they MAY circle back in several weeks and decide on their own to have 1 of them withdrawn if both pulls are from the same CRA. However, that is very much a YMMV and an internal decision that you can't influence positively by requesting it.
I do not have experience and am not commenting on what BoA will do. Regarding the CRAs I noticed an interesting experience with Experian-- I needed to allow my credit union to perform a hard pull this past week. Then I thought I don't plan on obtaining any more credit cards in the near future but I have wanted to get back a Macy's card that I foolishly closed about 12 years ago when I was charged a late fee when I paid after the payment due date before the statement cycled. So I decided to allow Macy's/ Citi to do a second hard pull the same day a few hours after the credit union.
So I now see two hard pulls the same day and a third pull from six months ago on my Experian credit report. Based on the two hard pulls my Experian FICO 8 went down 1 point from 804 to 803 and my Experian FICO Mortgage 2 appears to have dropped from 779 to 756.
The reasoning for the Experian score change states it is based on ONE hard pull (not two) (even though both hard pulls now show up). For the FICO 8 was I possibly not penalized for two pulls because the same day pulls were viewed as shopping around for the best credit rate and charged as one pull, hence the one point drop? With the larger drop with the FICO 2 mortgage was I maybe penalized because of two pulls same day and charged for two pulls?
In any case I figured it is best to get these pulls behind me as I'm not shopping for any more credit in the next 6 to 12 months and then my score will recover in 2024 and 2025.
I don't plan to ever get another mortgage in life so much of this analysis is academic.
My DP in contrary to other posts in this thread, however mine was for 2 business cards. I applied for the Business Advantage Customized Cash and Business Advantage Unlimited Cash both on the same day back in April. Both were approved instantly, and TransUnion was pulled for only the first application. Since you are looking at a personal and business card, YMMV, but this was my experience.
