I think Experian was frozen at the time but usually they send an alert that there was an attempt. Should I reapply?

Actually You're right I just logged in and it says blocked attempt but for some reason they didn't email me is it smart to reapply or call first?

Will have to unlock experian then call in and have them re-run it if you are still interested

Re: BofA Instantly Denied Travel Rewards No Inquiry?

Yeah I was going to say what CreditCuriousity said.  I've never frozen or locked a profile, only used fraud alert.  But based on what I've read from others - it seems your application is dead.  You can still try to call first, no harm possible in asking - most likely they will have to attempt to pull your credit again versus simply get authorization to view a report they pulled when you first applied..... as in, they couldn't even see your report previously - so the effect is the same as if you were to just go ahead and submit a brand new application.

I guess the only benefit of calling versus applying online would exist if you believe that over-the-phone applications have an edge above online applications due to ID verification possibly done live with agent.

I'd like to open another can-o-worms if that's alright with you.......

question: are you an existing BoA customer?  do you have a checking/savings with them?

I have not read too much DPs on BoA but am curious about their cold apps versus 'suggested for you' offers.  So far I can verify what limited information I've seen others post -

1. EX - hard pull for new application

2. TU - soft pull for CLI

3. Their pre-approval mechanism is very confusing.  Customer initiated there can be a generic result that gives you offers that are valid day-of only and have APR ranges.  You have to look closely.  Then there's supposedly targeted pre-approvals they send to cardholders/banking customers that has a 30 day or so validity with a fixed APR.

The latter is what intrigues me - this might be a dumb question that has already been answered but I'm dying to find out if those pre-apps are based off their SP TU FICO score that is also used for CLIs.   And if there is a HP for those offers, and if so, which bureau is HPd.

Best of luck to you!  Hope you get the approval and the SL you desire.

Do you mind sharing DPs regardless of the result?

I have the card myself and find it to be a solid offering for no AF.  I get the 10% bonus for having checking automatically calculated into each purchase.  I do not need to wait for redemption like with the Cash Rewards card.  There's a rarely advertised benefit of 3x points for travel booked from their portal.  The rewards stack impressively with the BankAmeriDeals/Coins.  The offers for me are identical to what Chase has started doing so the Coins are a nice bonus.  I am seriously trying to find a way to park $20k+ in my savings account with them in order to get the Preferred Rewards bonus.....because at that point I would even consider their Premium Travel or whatever that black/grey card is called.

I just only use the Savings account as an emergency fund since it only earns 0.01% which is an absolute joke.  I thought Citi was bad with their 0.04% APY but BoA is so bad it puts a dent into the huge value of everything I just described.

Only other potential drawback is that I've read that the blue Travel Rewards card employs Chip/PIN method but nobody could truly confirm over the phone, they all seemed to want me to inititate a cash-advance PIN(which is different and I'd hopefully never use, intentionally do not set up).  Been telling myself I would visit a branch to create but never seem to have the time or motivation.....going to Rome day after XMas so I probably should try this week.  If successful then I can comfortably dampen my lust for a future Barclay's approval.
