BofA Travel Rewards CLI approved

This card was previously my starter/student credit card opened in 2009 with a $600 limit that BofA automatically raised to $1600. It was dormant for 6 years while my BofA Wold Points card got my primary use.

Last week I PC'ed the student card to a Travel Rewards card. That $1600 limit would be essentially useless as a travel card. I used the online chat service to speak with a SR. I requested a $10000 limit. They asked for household income and housing status/payments. After a TU hard pull, I was approved for $5200. Not great, but as my oldest line of credit, it's got a bit more usefulness than it had previously.

TU summary (02/15/2016):

FICO 762

Portion of balances to credit limits on bank/national revolving or other revolving accounts too high

Too many accounts with balances

Length of time revolving accounts have been established

Proportion of loan balances to loan amounts is too high

Welcome to MyFico

Congrats to the CLI. If you have other cards with 10K limits I would call back and try to recon the limit as BofA will use the same pull for 30 days normally. Smiley Happy

A good cli. Enjoy it and pay down your other accounts (this was mentioned in the post) then ask again. Good luck!

Re: BofA Travel Rewards CLI approved

Good idea to recon. My 30 days is almost up! Should really maximize benefit from hard pull.
