Hi, was wondering does Bread send emails regarding status of application? I ask because i applied for the Bread Amex this morning. Which this was the interesting tidbit. I entered last 4, and phone number. It had my husbands first name in the field pre-filled. Which neither of us have had a bread/commenity account before. Not sure if thats due to him being primary on the phone?
But was wondering does Bread/Commenity send emails? I never got an email saying application submitted. And the status screen said "We're reviewing your application and to wait 10-14 days." Well its been killing me all day so i called their customer service and was advised they won't be able to see anything till at least the 10 day mark.
They did pull Experian.

When that happens, it either a decline, or you'll receive a letter in the mail with a phone number to call and a verification code at the top of the letter. When you call in, they'll ask a set of public database verification questions and if you pass, you'll either be approved on the spot or very rarely declined sitll.
Comenity won't tell you ANYTHING until you have that letter.
I applied yesterday, got the same 10-14 day delay. They did pull Experian only.

@Skye12329What was the outcome? Been over 10 days.
The letter arrived and, denied due to BK, inquiries, and number of accounts opened. They had pulled Experian at the time. Wasn't a verification letter like I was hoping it may have been.
So sorry. Kinda better off the way Comenity has been acting. Next time you'll nail it.

You could ask them for a credit line increase with frozen credit files. If it goes "thwack" and you don't get one there was your answer.

I usually do this myself because I don't want banks using my credit files as a dumping ground full of hard pulls over servicing existing accounts.
If it's a soft pull it should go through anyway because they're servicing an existing account and have the right to run your credit even with a freeze, if it's a hard pull it won't go through and you can decide if the CLI is worth another hard pull.
With bankruptcy on your credit you really start watching how credit desperate you may appear to other banks.
Discover is cool because I just asked them to look at my Equifax report to decide on my Discover Miles card. Since I only had 1 hard pull on that and 3 on each of the other two. The last thing I want are banks randomly pulling credit files. Since most of them don't seem to ask about Equifax, it was worth less to me to try to keep a hard pull off of it.
Even when they tell you it'll be a soft pull, get a freeze first because good luck ever getting rid of the hard pull if they do that to you anyway, until it falls off on its own.
