Hi i was denied a cli stating my credit score was too low and my balance was too high. The letter stated they used my score in Feb and this is now April. Since Feb my score has increaseld 110 points and my balance is under 10% utilization. Does anyone know when will they use updated info? I have never received a cli with them and I've been with them since 2016. Whats the purpose if they're using out dated info to make their decisions? I thought it would be easier due to COVID i know some cc companies are
Which card do you have? It could be a bucketed card....have you read on those here on the forum? Mine was like that so I app'd for a second card and did much better.
I've read that they pull quarterly for their internal score updates. I asked for one early this week. They gave me the finger and cited a February score that is quite a bit lower than current also. I rarely use my card (I kept it so my teenage kids have a lower limit AU card to use if their AU Amex cards aren't accepted), and I ask randomly just because. I don't anticipate it ever going above the current $600 limit as it was a bucketed starter card from two years ago.
"I've read that they pull quarterly for their internal score updates."
Because it is cheaper for them to use a already pulled score, rather than a fresh pull

...which would emphasize the idea that they don't really value customer service.
"meh, screw 'em. Last fall's score is good enough."

Sorry to hear that. I just asked for a CLI about 20 min ago. Now I've had the Platinum starter card for about 3 months so I'm sure itll be denied. But giving it a go
I also haven't had a credit increase with Cap1 since 2016/2017. So I stopped using the cards obessively. When I do a credit increase now they deny with a single 'Recent use of this account's existing credit line has been too low' excuse. Ha!
Cap1 is known for being stingy with credit increases and not promoting secured credit cards into unsecure ones. I did see that they recently added the reason for 'Why are you seeking a credit increase?' feature to more detailed preset answers (including 'My credit line doesn't met my long-term spending needs'), but no love with a bump in CI.
I asked for a CLI today on my QuicksilverOne ($1,500 CL). I received a whopping $150 CLI. Woo-hoo! But after reading a few posts on this thread, I guess I should be thankful it wasn't $100 or denied. LOL
