CAPITAL ONE WANTS INCOME VERIFICATION .AFTER I REQUESTED LIMIT INCREASE ..

i requested a credit limit increase .....i put income as 45k ..i can only prove 30k the  rest is self employed income from starting a job the first of this year... what will happen will the close my account or lower my credit limit ?

Are you not paying taxes on the other 15k?  Most likely you just won't get the CLI and your account should remain ok.  Should of put what you could of proved.

If you have SE income but have not yet filed a full year schedule C, you can provide proof in the form of your business bank statements.

ok thanks well i did not start the job till jan of this year ...i have a seperate bank account ...my other income is from the government benefits  ...well i quess i will half to stick with the 33oo limit ....i run it up so fast and bay it off ..its a headache paying it several times a month ....thanks for the info

Yea. They won't close your account, but you won't be getting that CLI. Sorry. Do you have pay stubs from the last few month's you can send them ??? They might accept them.

thats a good idea ..i never thought it was that important do to the fact its only about a 1000.oo a month ..and my other income is government benefits

You will likely get a denial..  Next time, although you are making extra income quote what you can always prove.  How much is the current limit on the card you are requesting a CLI on?

As for your income, it's common to include your current rate.   Cap One should instruct you on what qualifies as proof of income.   Depending on what they accept and/or what you submit, YMMV.   I doubt they would close your CC.

all i have is my bank account where i make seperate deposits ....for only that income ...but its good news knowing that they will not close my account .....i will just try amex or another anothter prime card the first of the year when my accounts age some more and my inquirys fall off ...

Yea, some places will be fine with pay stubs while other's want tax returns. SDFCU requested my last month's pay stubs when I opened my account with them and applied for 15K VISA.
Luckily my job uses "the work number" so I just give them the phone number and they can call and receive all the verification they want.
