CFNA for Firestone Store card

After applying for this card over the weekend I was declined, but since I don’t take no for a simple answer I decided to contact their customer service line. After speaking with the gentleman over the phone he gave me a reconsideration number that I have not seen yet anywhere here on the forum. So I’m just passing it on, you’ll get a live person after 2 or 3 rings.

As for me she wanted me to call back once I get the reason for denial in the mail, hopefully it’s something simple like verifying my identity. I have a few credit bureaus frozen other than the big 3.

Heres the number 216 - 362 - 5221 for CFNA credit team 🙂

Re: CFNA for Firestone Store card

Yeah more than likely it could be that although I am no expert that is what happened to me when I first applied for it. Definitely keep us informed and keep working at it it’s an alright card have had it for about a year although I only use it for tires. They report regularly and have had two CLI on it

Re: CFNA for Firestone Store card

Also I noticed that you said you are putting your income into cards that graduate but I saw you have an Open Sky credit card which I believe does not have a graduation program as of yet. Just in case you weren’t aware wanted to give you a heads up.

Re: CFNA for Firestone Store card

Looking at your scores the most likely reason is your scores are too low. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I used to work for Firestone and had to push these cards on people every day. Got in the habit of asking people if they knew their scores prior to applying. 650 range seemed to be the range that would get approvals.

Re: CFNA for Firestone Store card

Thanks for the reply and feedback. I am only putting my income into NFCU secured. I won’t be really touching the OpenSky and Greendot cards other than lite spending. I would just been keeping those open for the history until I decided to closed them.

Re: CFNA for Firestone Store card

Thanks for your feedback. My cards are paid in full every month, and until I can increase my secured balances to where my monthly usage is then a low utilization, my scores will reflect at a 99% utilization. Hopefully this is something I could talk to them about and my true scores should be in the mid 600s with a very low utilization. But who knows, they may still just flat out say no. Lol

Re: CFNA for Firestone Store card

As the comment from the previous employee stated it could be scores but I believe that varies because when I was first approved it was with a 577 score but low utilization and 100% payment history so there may be some flexibility not a hard number that’s a no.
