No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
Assuming you don't want to call them wait for the letter to see what needs to be addressed. Personally, I'd call them tomorrow and cross your fingers on it being a possible verification issue, if not that be prepared to recon and plead your case on getting approved for the card. If needed HUCA (hang up call again) til you get a favorable agent if the first attempt at recon fails
Data points say you call recon at this point. See flowchart:
good luck!
My credit history/ profile was very similar to yours when I applied. I had a shorter credit history (< 1y) and 2 cards (discover IT, BOA travel rewards), similar income, but I also recently (1 mo before application) opened a student checking accoutn with chase. My initial message was 30 days, then changed to 7-10. I called, it was a verification issue, I sent in the documents and two days later they approved me with a limit that made me fall out of my chair.
My advice is to call. What I did was call the Robolady, press 0, and tell the CSR "I recently applied for the freedom unlimited card and would like to ask if there is any additional information I could provide?" At this point they'll tell you whether it's verification or denial. If verification, tell them you want to send it via email (instead of fax/ snailmail) and they should link you to an online system, then you can cross your fingers again. If denial, be ready to plead your case (tell them why you want the card, highlight good points on your credit file etc.)! HUCA if necessary. There's also a DP that mentioned after 2 times of failed HUCA, opening a chase checking account and dumping in a bunch of money helps, if you have that to spare on hand (said person got approved when they called again after opening the account).
I can only really say that from what I've seen, Chase highly values customer relationships. Good luck!
Ask them what you need to provide.
For most people it's just a recent pay stub. In your case you might need statements from the bank accounts you're using.
