Re: CHASE 30-Day message... data points?

Just called customer service to find out about about the flexible spending change to my Amazon and IHG cards then asked if they could check status of United Club app. The agent stated that no decision had been reached yet but that the application had been processed recently. Fingers crossed.

Wow FinStar your app was longer than mine. 15 days till approva nearly 3 1/2 weeks till I saw a card.
Same thing with United club visa.

Yes it was!  The last application that I recall that took long (over 20 days) was AARP.  I had honestly forgotten about it since I had not seen a letter or anything until I checked online one day and there it was, then the card arrived shortly after.

Re: CHASE 30-Day message... data points?

Just going to add in my current experience as another data point.  I apped online for a Chase Freedom card yesterday morning and instantly recieved the "7-10 days" notification.  Shortly thereafter, I recieved an email saying that I will be notified by mail within 30 days. Calling the automated number (800-436-7927) gives me "account still under review, decision within 7-10 days".  I'm calling the automated number daily, so I will give an update once I found out what the decision is.

Typically the 7-10 days on the automated system does not change if that's the final decision (it really won't say that the application was denied) - you'll have to wait for the letter to confirm.  The only time a 7-10 day automated message changes (if at all) is if the application gets reactivated due to additional processing, such as verification for exampel (i.e. individual receives a letter requesting additional information to finish processing).

Ah.  Good to know.  Even if it's a denial, I'll still call the recon line and give it a shot.  But maybe the denied application will at least allow me to opt-in to the pre-screened offers.  For some reason, everytime I go to their pre-approval site, i get the "no offers available, opted out of pre-screen....blahblah".  I've never had a Chase account, but I do want to get my foot in the door with them for the future.

I had apped for the Slate & Freedom on March 2, and received the under review 7-10 day message on the phone. Yesterday I finally called the Lending Dept to find out if it was actually still under review, and the nice lady stated the card had been auto-denied due to me apping for 2 cards back to back. She asked me a few questions & put me on hold, then came back & said she was ok'ing me for the Freedom or something along those lines; she was hard to understand as she was kind of mumbling & sounded like she had just woke up. Not real sure what happened but it did sound like she ok'd me for the Freedom...nothing has shown up on my account yet for it & the pre-qual continues to show both the Slate/Freedom, so we'll see what happens I guess lol. I had already taken the HP for the Slate/Freedom apps on March 2, so I figured it wouldnt hurt to try & get the Freedom today. Hopefully it will show up on my account heh.

Although I HOPE your right: if I'm approved for the chase Marriott visa (after getting the 3,000 from discover) I will be SUPRISED if I get it..... But I will definitely be pleasantly surprised

Re: CHASE 30-Day message... data points?

It's getting weirder now. Just received a UPS mychoice alert for a delivery from Chase tomorrow. Does the United Club card get expedited and/or does it come via UPS? I haven't requested any replacement cards. 🤔

Re: CHASE 30-Day message... data points?

Just checked my account & it's showing the Freedom on my account now, so I went from a 7-10 denial to an approval with a call to Lending, though my case may have been special due to an apparent auto denial from apping back to back(according to Chase).

Also, I just apped & got the Amex ED even though I didnt have any prequals. It wasnt the CL I had hoped for, but my file is thin with only 1.5 years aaoa & 4 years oldest CC as well as 2 paid major derogs showing. I'm happy & it will grow with me. Smiley Happy

I also requested via SM my Slate be changed to a FU. Only had the Slate for a week & havent even used it yet since getting NFCU's recent BT offer, so not expecting anything, but we'll see.

Time to garden for awhile!
