And, while 5/24 is still a thing, you'd still need to clear any other hurdles from a UW perspective.  Most lenders have placed more stringent controls in their UW process, so best of luck whenever you decide to pull the trigger.

Yes, I have read.  I'm fine on all other fronts.  Ficos are over 830 and only 1% util - actually less than that.  But 5/24 is right at 5/24 for new accounts, so I didn't know if a soft pull was done and thus Chase found no prequals. I was only checking out of curiosity.  Will wait til May when 5/24 is no longer at issue, unfreeze, and see what happens.

I get that same response on CHASE's prequalify site and I have never frozen any of my reports.

Same here, been with Chase for 10 years and have two Chase cards.  I never never bothered looking into it further I apply for cards so infrequently these days that I figure cold apping is fine.
