Re: CITI Aadvantage

I don't think there is any significant underwriting criteria difference between the cards.  With the exception of higher end cards that require higher starting limits most cards for any particular creditor have the same UW criteria.  For the most part it is a big myth that certain cards are harder to get than others from a creditor.  This is especially true for Amex where everyone thinks the Platinum cards is harder to be approved for than the regular green card.

Re: CITI Aadvantage

I am finding that I am travelling on American a bit more and decided to apply for their Advantage Card (Plat Select). Citi really does not like me as much as other lenders and 6 months ago they denied my application.

Recently I booked a first class ticket on American and was given the opportunity to apply again and utilize the card to purchase my ticket. I was given the 7-10 day message and that they were reviewing my application. So, I used a different card to purchase my ticket and figured I was once again denied.

8 days later I received an email that I was approved for $18,000. My CitiDC is only $4,700, so I was surprised at the Citi credit line. I also applied for the Aviator card from Barclays to capture some more miles and they approved me for $17,000.

Data points: Utilization is 1% and have double digit inquiries. FICO 08 > 775's
