CITI CLI question

I have a CLI request coming up on 10/16, is it wise to wait for my disco CLI to update from 5900 to 7400 and do the CLI after the 21st, or should I do it before then? Trying to get the most I can, not sure if it looks worse if disco gave me a CLI as I'm seeking credit or if it's better since that would be my highest trade line and might give citi incentive to give me a similar TL.

Re: CITI CLI question

I don't think it would hurt to wait 5 more days before requesting a CLI with Citi. It can only look better as Citi won't know whether you requested a CLI from Discover or not given that Discover only does a SP for CLIs.

TRUE! That didn't even cross my mind haha... I guess it can only help in that case... Discover usually updates credit after statement hits so I'll wait another day after and apply

Re: CITI CLI question

I do not believe it will make much of a difference with Citi. If just going for a SP increase they usually don't give much out with average being around $1500-$2000 based on approvals. However, if you're going for more than that a HP will be used but at least you will possibly get more that way. IME I have been getting around ~$5k the few times I've asked for a HP CLI with Citi. I really don't see waiting being worth it unless you're willing to burn a HP then it might be worth holding on til Disco reports

If it's not going to hurt my chances I might as well wait... I'm hoping I'll get a bit more than 2k, at least with the spending I have put through the card, if not I'll just continue to grow my disco until they ask for a 4506-t then crySmiley Happy)

Re: CITI CLI question

Citi is weird and stranger things have happened lol. I imagine it'll take a lot of spend for then to open up their wallets on a significant SP increase kind of like how Capital One is right now

Why not go for the immediate HP CLI after the SP request? Seems like it'd worth the squeeze with that kind of spend

Re: CITI CLI question

Go with the soft pull......  but I would pay down any balance to zero before the request.   I'm not sure... other here may know better,   .........       but I think that helps
