CITI approval, but low credit line..reconsidration possable?

My aunt applied and was approved for a citi bank simpicity card today with a 6K starting limit. Her lowest Credit line is 12K with the other big banks. Can I call citi to request a higher limit on a new account for her.

I don't think Citi will let you call for her.. If your aunt requests a SL recon I think they will pull a new report as well.

Correct.  The aunt needs to call herself and she if does request a higher limit, it will be another HP.  it's best to activate the card, wait 6 months until the SP option for a CLI appears and then request it.

If this is her first card with Citi, that's actually on the higher end of starting limits. 

They grow steadily with SP CLI's if she's patient. If not she can call them up and request a higher limit, but it will be a HP, as stated already.

She does not want another HP and this is her second card with citibank. I think its best for her to just wait it out for 6 months and call for a SP CLI . The other card she has with citibank is at 14K.

I was in the same boat. Got the Simplicity for 0% on Balance Transfers, bot only received a $5500 SL. But I was patient, picked up a CLI at 3 month mark, and another 6 months later to get it 11k CL.
