CL Increase questions

As I'm gardening for 6-12 months after recent credit approvals, I am trying to grow the balances for the better cards I already have.  Eventually, I will close the subprimes one by one after they report zero for a bit.

I have:

Disc it, 1k (balance $10 after 1200 monthly usage, got it 3/22)

AMEX BluCash reward, 2k, (heavy usage, current 0 bal, got 4/22)

AMEX Delta sky miles, 2k (heavy usage, current 0 bal, got 5/22)

Lowes, 5k (0 balance, just got)

Care Credit 3,500 (zero balance1.3 years)

Car: 57,000 (got 4/22).

Cap1, 700 (Bucketed and zero balance, 2 years).

Remainder subprimes (all zero balances: OpenSky, Credit One, Avant, Self - ages are 1.5 -  3 year).

Current Ficos:   EXP: 683, TU: 672, EQ: 680

High income.

The subject of your topic states CL questions, but there doesn't appear to be any?  Can you clarify/expand on what you're attempting to accomplish?

Hopefully, the bolded statement above meant "trying to grow the credit limits" not balances.

Little early to be looking for CLI's just yet in red. Cap1 will do their possibly $100 CLI. If any of the sub-primes have a AF. Close em. If the oldest account is really 3 yrs. Stay above 2 yrs with the oldest card. Keep it for now to build history. Slow and steady. Cant rush anything credit. You finally got where you wanted. Just chill for now. In 6 months after usage then ask for CLI's.

Re: CL Increase questions

Absolutely!   I know it's premature...just wondering if there is anything beyond AZEO I should be doing?   For instance, do the cards like heavy usage before paying to zero each month?

Re: CL Increase questions

As mentioned, it is too early yet for CLI. Discover wants you to wait 6 months. Amex is a minimum of 61 days although some have to wait 6 months. Amex may ask you to link your bank account and since you have a high income, if you are willing it may increase your CLs more than otherwise.

Good luck on your credit journey.

Re: CL Increase questions

Thanks to all:

I've learned so much here. I would not be as high as I am score-wise if I did not find this group and start AZEO Smiley Happy

Re: CL Increase questions

Disco I hit up the old days at 61, 91, and 121 days out. On 2 cards over 2 yrs. Heavy usage and they both grew. I used them as my daily driver which Missy likes. AMEX is the ole 91 day thingy. Large thread on here about it. Time, usage for CLI's. is about it for now. You made the moves. Let time raise the scores before your next move for a while. Its score rise time. Comes a time in rebuild mode to plateau and enjoy what you got. With the recent moves. Garden till the end of the year. AZEO IMO is to save $ paying interest. Let the cards pay you. Not you paying interest to use the card. Why get CB and then lose it to interest. Again. Sit back and enjoy what you got. Your moving up the ladder. One rung at a time.

Re: CL Increase questions

Thanks.  That's what I thought.  I actually opened a PenFed savings to grow until I'm ready at the end of my garden time Smiley Happy.    We will see how fast my cards grow in the garden.

Re: CL Increase questions

I'm going to grow savings as well at penfed.  I got into this credit jam a few years ago due to medicals.  This way, I'll have a nest egg and since they aren't local I can avoid temptation.  Just in case.  And should help when I try for a card down at the end of the gardening road.
