My income is 120k. And yea I have been hearing a lot that places dont want to be the first ones to issue you a high CL. I wonder if trying the credit increases with Amex would be the best way to get those higher limits.

That is a good start .Amex has been good to me. Another decent starting limit card would be a Cap One Venture .

I thought the cap1 venture card is like the csp, as in very hard to get because of the high min limit

I would say the Venture is easier to get than the CSP and the Venture card is known for giving out higher limits. I believe it has been my only initial starting limit 30k or above.
