I was just approved for the Delta Reserve Amex and have had my platinum card for 11 years. In 2018/2019 I got laid off and had a hard time finding work and wasn't able to pay all my cards but did stay up to date on amex which is why my score isn't the best.
I spend around 3k-4k a month on plat and pay it off every month full (this spend is over the last 3-4 years never late or missing a payment and pay in full).
It's only been a few days since i got the delta card approved and the CLI option was unavailable but i noticed today that it is available, does this mean i should try? if so should i go for the 3x increase?

given the dirty profile, there is a risk that amex sees you as a greater risk and will deny a 3x increase, but you're more than welcome to try
you should definitely go for it today, you'll need to wait another 90 days after if you get approved, partly approved or declined,
I'd reccomend one of two approaches:
go for 3x, see how amex feels about it, yolo, they may decline you outright when they would have approved you for a smaller increase (they don't always just give you a smaller amount if you ask for too much), but if you can get 3x, it's definitely worth it.
ask for what you need, if a $5k CLI means you don't have to make a payment before the bill comes due and you're good with the smaller increase, IMO, there's a slightly better chance of approval asking for less than asking for more.
If the scores are accurate, imo wait the 91 days, do what you can to improve the score until then & use + pay and ask 3x. YOLO then, they'll give what they want or counter... or deny.
I used my Everyday for fuel all last year up to $300 a month and they gave me a 3,200 increase which was all I asked for after asking for years prior (I didn't like the odd 8.3K limit), instant approval, made me wish I asked for more. But I've not sweated it.
also I asked for that because apparently there's a thing where if your close to the max they'll be more likely to grant it if it's below 5K requested. Look it up it's a thing I guess.
