Looking for some guidance regarding CLI request for Amex BCP. Approved for card November 2023 with a $5k line. Balance never went higher than 20% of my limit. Able to pay off entire balance October 2024, when I requested and approved for a CLI to $10k. PIF every month since and out of curiosity requested another CLI 5 months later and was approved for $15k. It's now been 5 months since last increase.
Should I take a chance and request another? I don't want to appear desperate for more credit and/or accidentally flag my account, especially with Amex. They don't do a hard pull for an increase request but I'm more concerned about my standing with Amex. I spend about $1-2k a month and pay balance in full. Any suggestions/advice from those familiar with the Amex ecosystem? Thanks!

For me, amex went 3X until I reached 45% of reported income.Thats total exposure, two cards, bce and hilton.
As to when, it's when the "request credit limit increase" in the app isn't grayed out, lol. 91 days, usually, which applies to either card.

Thanks for the info. The Request CLI button is not grayed out. I guess my (unrealistic?) concern stems from anecdotal info I've heard about "abuse" of the Check Spending Power feature leading to an infamous Amex review.
Many people hit 15k+ (from 1k - 2k SL) within a year, like me, without issue.
Worst case they will ask for 3 months bank statements to verify income. If you get that response you can either proceed with providing the statements (or access to your bank account), or discontinue the CLI request and retain your current CL as if you never requested the CLI.
Since we're on the subject, anyone know what might trigger the poi request? I'm planning to request another cli on bcp. Since I'm at 45% income, I'm going to limit to 50%. Is there a CL I should stay under to avoid poi request? I seem to recall the number $35,000. Anyone know?

I was up to $50k on my BCE. When I requested $70k they finally asked for statements.
Thanks! Im thinking I'll ask for $27,000 to $35,000 on bcp.
If your income supports it then you'll be good to go! Good luck

Does AMEX actually report a CL? I thought they are the odd ball. Not sure how huge CL helps you with AMEX
