CSP Chances?

Hi All,

The CSP is the next card i'd like to acquire. Unfortunately I have never been pre-approved for any card with Chase. Current scores via CCT ~ EX: 714; EQ: 689; TU: 712. The only two cards I have are the AMEX SPG ~ $8k and CapOne QS ~ $3k. AAoA ~ 4 years. Oldest Account ~ 11 years. No collections, but two 30-day lates; the last of which was 17 months back. Three total accounts opened in the past 24 months (auto loan included). What are my chances cold apping? Thanks in advance for your help.

Im sure you know but those 30 day lates are the key.  Very difficult to tell what effect they will have on your chances of approval.  I'd say your chances are 50/50 so you'll have to decide whether to take the chance.  From how many accounts you currently have it doesnt sound like you have very many inquiries so it might be worth a shot and if you're denied, you can call and recon and at least get some insight on how the lates are viewed or even get an approval if you get a sympathetic CSR.

Re: CSP Chances?

Chase typically (always?) pulls EXP, so in good shape there, but like the poster above unsure the effect the two 30-day lates will have. Keep us posted.

Re: CSP Chances?

Good will the late payment, if you've had solid history since you may have luck. I would app for the freedom to build up some history first. Chase doesn't like thin files. You can build some history with chase and in 12 months ago for the CSP. That would save you the recon if it doesn't go well.

Re: CSP Chances?

I did receive a pre-approval (invitation code) in the mail for Chase Freedom today. It's funny how I still don't receive offers via their website.
