Just submitted my app online, called into verifications, and was told due to too many new accounts opened in the last 2 years that my app was declined. The analyst I spoke to said he couldn't do a reconsideration request due to the decline reason. REALLY? I have a 740 credit score on EX, 15% util, no derogs, have over $50k in deposits with Chase, and six figure income, not to mention 2 other CCs with them that have NEVER been maxed out or paid late.
I'm on hold to see if I can get another analyst to help but geez I'm so angry. Does a Special Consideration Form that you complete in a branch still work? I hate going into branches but I'll do it if it's worth it. I wanted to app for CLIs on my existing card since they were doing the HP but now I don't know if there's even a point doing that. SO UPSET! UGH!
How many accounts have you opened in the past 24 months? Chase has a strict 5/24 policy that they enforce.
**bleep**! I've been asking for help on my app strategy for weeks and no one has responded. I had no idea they won't allow more than 5 accounts in 2 years. When on earth did that change?? Is there any point in me submitting a special consideration form at a branch or is it a 100% hard and fast rule?? Should I bother apping for a CLI on the off chance they'll give me that using the same HP and it won't be a complete and utter waste of time or will they say the same crap??!

KN"S SOOOO UPSET
It's been mentioned at least 10 times a day..lol
apparently, they might be able to make an exception in a branch, some people have said that
Yup apparantly some people have had luck still getting the Slate....maybe because thats considered a balance transfer card. But I think you dead in the water for that Double Cash.......But keep us posted if you score otherwise.
Sorry bout your denial... Sorry but your income, bank funds, or your credit score / file doesn't make you an exception to the rule.
sounds like you've been away from the board for a while, but a little bit of reading would have yielded you plenty of info to help with
your decision making. And you have no right to get upset at the community just because no one brought it up to you.
So please stop lashing out at the community for where you feel short in doing all your research after getting advise.
Wish sh you better luck when your elgible to reapply. Thank you have a GREAT DAY

I don't follow Chase threads religiously...and I haven't seen it in any of the recent CSP-related threads. I guess I have nothing to lose but to try and do the special consideration form in a branch although it really aggravates me that I should have to. Ugh.
So CLI on my Freedom...don't bother?

I'm not "lashing out at the community," I'm upset at Chase because I think it's an absurd policy. I'm upset I didn't know about it. Can a person not be upset without it being construed as an assault? I'm not sure why you'd be so arrogant about it since there's no way humanly possible any one person can keep up-to-date on EVERYTHING that happens on these boards.
Definitely try reconsideration in branch. A Freedom cli request would probably yield a 2nd hp
