CSP & Freedom

Wife and I have a Freedom with a 17k limit. I want to get a CSP. Our annual income 200k, about to go to 275k when wife goes back full time.) No other Chase TLs. Util always reports less than 5%, always PIF on all cards. (Amex, Discover, Cap 1, Citi) Freedom spend 4-5k per month. My scores mid 700s, wife's low 800s.

1. CSP UR points can be redeemed for cash, right? (Wife is terminally practical.)

2. Issues with internal limits with Chase? We may want a Ritz card someday as well.

3. PC or new TL?

Thanks in advance to the best forum on the Internet.

Re: CSP & Freedom

CSP - UR can be redeemed for cash, but it's not the best.. usually transferring to a travel partner will net the most cents per point. Otherwise UR = $0.01 per point.

The issue with internal limits is largely based on your income (which is no problem) and of course your spending habits.

3.) Always best with CSP to app due to the sign on bonus PC will forfeit the bonus. But if your AAoA can't take the hit due to a huge purchase soon then obviously you'll need to weigh the pros/cons to that app.

I'd say you'd have no issues given the info that you've given thus far. Best of luck! moving this to applications forum. Smiley Wink

Re: CSP & Freedom

Thanks, Kenny. Sorry about posting in the wrong forum. I agree with the poor value of points for cash but wife wants the "option". (Uxorus Domesticus Practicalus, lol) Great point (pun intended) on sign up bonus too. Thanks again.

Re: CSP & Freedom

+1^ what Kenny said... I see a 28kish approval for your CSP imo.  You should be good to go, please let us know the outcome!  I would say your Chase internal limit >75k.. So you have barely touched it.. It is deffinetly based on history/income and report.. All which you are golden on!

Agreed.  They should get a decent limit based on a snapshot of credit portfolio provided...

Congrats.   Very nice CL.  I'd say go for the Ritz but maybe you should wait until the 140K offer comes around again.

Exactly my plan, Irish. A little surprised at the CL.
