CSP: denied after week of verification. Next step?

I was denied a week after applying (and verifying personal info) for a selected offer/green check/set APR CSP.

The reason for denial was my length of history with Chase. I have a Freedom (CL $2k) that just hit the 6 month mark, am an AU on an amex from 2/2018 and have a Quiksilver from 11/2017. Currently my Fico8 score is 722, and my income is in the low 6 figures.

Is there anything I can do (HUCA?) to try to convince them to give me this card? I have a big ($8500k) spend to make and want to maximize with rewards + signup bonus.

Sorry..

I don't have personal experience with Chase but I believe I recall reading you need at least a year of positive credit history..

Somebody that knows for sure will be along soon.

Thanks! From previous data points, people have gotten sapphire family cards with as little as 3 months history!

The CSP comes with a minimum CL of $5,000.  What are the limits on your current cards.  Chase could have reasonably concluded that you don't have experience handling larger credit limits.

P.S.  Unless you know the credit profiles of the people you say were approved after 3 months, its not really worthwhile to make comparisons.

Good point!

My total credit available is $7750 across all my 3 cards - 5k on Amex Blue, 2k on Chase Freedom and 750 on worthless Capital One. I rack up and pay off my Chase 1-2 times a month, to maximize Chase UR points. Utilization overall is under 20% - usually under 10%.

I know all 3 cards are entry cards, and after 6+ months I’m ready to go up a step. It’s frustrating that Chase doesn’t want me!

Chase does want you, they gave you the Freedom. They just may not be ready to give a $5k limit. You can HUCA but I'm not sure it'll help much. They also won't consider the $5k Amex AU because you aren't responsible for any part of it. It may take a few more months to get CSP. Best of luck and don't get too discouraged.

Echo this. Chase won't consider the AU account. I would attempt a recon some you've already taken the hard pull(s), but if denied try to get an increase on your other cards and wait at least 6 more months before applying again. Best of luck to you.

Thanks!

I spoke with a CSR in recon and they’re taking a second look. She mentioned that my score and income are “on mark” for the card - we will see!

Re: CSP: denied after week of verification. Next step?

That is certainly good news. There are DPs of younger profiles approved but they seem to be very profile specific. Just for reference on the difference 6 months can make; in early January I applied for Freedom (below 5/24) and was denied, they wouldn't even recon a $500 limit. In May I felt brave and applied for my Hyatt card (lol/24) which was an instant approval at $8.6k. Don't get discouraged, just give them time. Good luck with recon.
