@K-in-Boston wrote:Amex is what I was hinting at when I asked if you had considered travel cards from other lenders. With your EX score and other stats, approval would be almost guaranteed unless there's some other factor not in your first post. Not saying that the CSP is out of the question, but I wouldn't feel comfortable encouraging you to go into it expecting a quick and easy approval.
Thanks for the input! I really appreciate it I'll look into AMEX. I havent really given them much thought. Im 3/24 right now so I dont want to spoil my chances with Chase in the near future by getting other new cards.. one wont hurt though, right?
Doesnt AMEX have an auto 3x CLI at some point?
OP, before you pull the trigger on AMEX and get on the 5/24 wagon, why not apply for the Chase cards and recon if denied (I was approved on the third recon call WITH a ch7) then i would say move on to the AMEX cards.
Your scores are good, and unless you have other negatives in your CRAs, "I" would go for it.
Don't forget you can opt in to receive offers, forgot what the link is.

c00mtg, my concern was mainly with the TU score which Chase can and does pull for new apps. A 677 TU08 score would be very iffy for a Sapphire Preferred, and certainly not a sure thing even for a Freedom. Of course if the OP is willing to attempt (and we do hope for the best) and worst case try to recon, certainly the fewer cards reporting the better.
Quick crash-course through Amex 3x CLI: You can ask at 61 days for up to 3x your current limit. You can ask again 91 days after a denial for any reason other than "it hasn't been long enough since you last asked." You can only have one CLI per 180 days, so if you receive one you must wait 181 days. The clock if for all Amex accounts you have, not per card.

You're right! Forgot about the TU detail. Thanks K-in-Boston

Thanks for all the help guys!!
I just checked my TU details and TU is lagging on updating a balance I just paid off (showing on EX and EQ Fako). I'll wait for that to update and probably throw some extra at my Patelco balance and see where my scores are at after that.

** update!! ** pulled the trigger... arg... and got the 30-day message...
The letter came in the mail and they pulle EQ only!? And denied me for the following (so confused)
- accounts too young (? Really?)
- balances too high (only high balance im carrying is 5/8k on one card- total util is about 12%)
- not enough available balance on credit line with them (freedom is paid off??)
Do I have grounds to recon to see if they can pull EX? Do I stand a chance? Lol
I would!
