CSP preapproval?

I got a letter in the mail with an invitation code for the CSP 50k point with 4k spend. Is this a preapproval letter or just some marketing? I checked online and Chase can never find any offers. I have about a 710 score right now that's been inching up. I'm not gonna apply either way until we close on our house but certainly will after that if this is for real!

A pre-approval would usually have a set interest rate listed.

Have you checked the Chase pre-qual site for any pre-approvals?

Re: CSP preapproval?

I've checked recently but I never have anything listed. I have been getting Slate mailers as well as Southwest mailers for a few months now. This is the first CSP mailer I've recieved.

Re: CSP preapproval?

Chase sends out marketing mailers all the time wih invitation codes and they are in no way any form of preapproval.  If you dont show any preapprovals on their web site then it's best to review approvals from here and/or post a detailed listing of your credit and we can generally provide good insight on our chances of an approval.

Re: CSP preapproval?

I didnt think I'd qualify but my AAoA is about 3.5 yrs. I have a Discover IT with a 3k CL, Cap1 QS1 with a 2k CL and a student loan with a balance of 27k. One 120 day late from May 2011. UTI is about 7%. My FICO 08 scores just updated and are 708 and 710. I'm prequalified for a mortgage loan and have been working on finding a house for a few months so I'm not worried about applying just yet. I'll keep working on getting higher CLs on the two cards I have and paying down my student loan while I search for a home.

Other than maybe the 120 late which was a while back when we're talking modern UW, you have a solid file for it.   I think the matching limits bit has gone a little bit by the wayside for Chase in the past year looking at some data, and certainly a 3K tradeline was in the ballpark of 5K even back in the day when they did clearly worry about such... and I'd certainly love to be 6 months ahead of where I am currently from an AAOA perspective.

Sort the mortgage first though, I don't think the CSP is going anywhere.

Chase normally only has one offer for the cards like the CSP and not higher targeted offers.  It is currently at 50K points.  The only time you'll see something different is occasionally they will offer a higher bonus for in branch applications

Re: CSP preapproval?

Awesome thanks for the responses. My credit profile has come a long way in a year and I'm not trying to rush anything, just curious.
