Hi Folks,
Hey there! As someone who has been following this community for a while, I've learned so much about credit and discovered some amazing credit card options thanks to all the helpful folks here. I wanted to reach out and ask for your input on my chances of getting approved for Chase's Sapphire Reserve card but I'm a bit weary. Here are some DPs that might give you a better idea. I'd really appreciate your insights.

I think I'm just under 5/24. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
For the most part looking at your data points I think your chances at approval are very high. The only thing I'd caution you on is you might want to wait until June 1 to apply. Some have suggested when you drop to 4/24 to wait at least until the 1st day of the following month to apply to guarantee your 4/24 status is recognized by Chase. It looks like you hit 4/24 in May 2023 so waiting until June 1 should help your approval chances even more. Best wishes to you if/when you decide to apply!

Great, thank you for the info! I'll wait until 6/1 or after. I was hoping for a similar sub like Sapphire Preferred's 80k bonus but I have a feeling that's not going to be happening anytime soon.
You check off all of the right boxes, because of the DTI figure I suspect there's a possibility you may get deferred for manual review but even if the worst case senario plays out and you're denied you absolutely 100% should recon the decision.

Thank you! Would that be the 30 day message I see many users refer to? I received that result after applying for the Amazon Prime Visa. About 2 weeks later, I received a letter to call them and was subsequently approved. We also have a checking and savings with them and have had a brokerage account JP Morgan for years.

With Chase, 30 days roughly translates to "your application is in the queue to have an analyst look at". It can take them < 10 minutes to review and approve (based on personal experience) or as in your case it can take a couple of weeks, it shouldn't be viewed in either a positive or negative light.
If there's a status change to 14 days/2 weeks the inference is that there was an initial positive review that needs a final signoff by an empowered analyst. That almost always leads to an approval although occasionally the final outcome is a denial.
7/10 days could mean a denial but could also mean additional verification is needed, typically that they need to confirm that it was really you that submitted the application.

As others have said, I think your chances will be good next month.
Since you're already a Chase member you might want to keep your eyes open on the site for a preapproval. But I don't think you need to wait for one to apply.

@MarcusFarcus you're welcome! I definitely understand wanting that 80K offer. I wish it didn't just expire. I'm not sure how long it'll take them to offer something that great again.🙁
Hi Folks,
Thank you all the help! I applied today and I was approved after calling customer service and verifying my identity when receiving an "in review" response.
$31,500
22.24%
This is my highest starting limit ever. Thank you all!
Congratulations on the approval - that's a top tier starting limit to boot.
