That’s interesting.
Thank you all for the responses. I’m going to work on the good will letters and hopefully it will work out. They are two department cards: old navy and Walmart. And one with BOA. All very small balances during the time it was closed. I thought it was an easy fix just paying the collections company as they removed the collections mark once I paid. Will follow up if anything changes.
It's pretty annoying that that isn't how it works. If you do what you think is the right thing and just pay the collection, you get stuck with the collection (albeit paid) on your credit reports for 7-10 years. Good luck with the goodwill letters, have seen plenty of success stories on here, but also plenty of failures
Update! I called chase and asked for reconsideration, but they denied. This was on 7/28/19. Today, 8/1/19 the CSR account appeared on Chase Online? So, i'm not sure what I should do. Should I call to ask if this is approved? or just wait for the card to come in?
Card came in today my and CL is $29,300! I guess everything is good to go? I did have to send in my utility bill for them to verify my address. I guess before the rep made the decision they did not confirm my address or not? Either way, I'm happy this went in my favor!
