Considering a year ago I had a score of 510 with almost no hope of recovering I'm happy with my 630 and am optimistic for the future! My worst baddie is $1800 from 2011 and is due to come off 10/2018 which with early exclusion can come off 04/2018.
But as the time has gone by they lose their sting or so I'm told. And hopefully by the time that rolls around I'll have my secured cards I opened this month unsecured with CLI's as well as 18 months of positive history with those cards as well as the secured personal loan I took out.
So yes it could be better but coming from 510 a year ago it's a work in progress for me I'm taking it one day at a time.
You sound like me. My scores were extreme low 500s when I started my rebuild. Congrats, 630 is a great come up, and time + patience + good payments will only take you further. I agree that sometimes CUs can be tougher with their manual reviews. I joined a local one recently (Navy won't let me in, even after requesting a savings only. Rep verified they perform the same checks regardless of account type) My CU won't approve me for anything until I get the very last baddie off my report, an old apartment lease that will drop early 2018!
