Can you app for a card via Recon Department?

Is it possible to just call the recon department directly to app for a new card that you think you will not be approved for (especially if you prefer the manual review)? Or do you have to app online, get denied, and then call in? Thanks!

Re: Can you app for a card via Recon Department?

You mean like talking to the analyst directly?

OP, Please don't take this the wrong way but
but if you have any doubt the computer will approve you then you might have some things to take care of and applying through an analyst directly likely won't help any if it is even allowed..

The reconsideration department is just for that, Reconsideration.

NO.  And why would you do that?  Something like that will prompt them to shut down reconning for cards altogether. Their job is to review app. put in and make a decision and NOT take fresh applications over the phone.

Apply and if denied then call.

I think it'd be a bad idea. Just apply for the cards you want and if you get denied, give recon a shot.

Believe me i've considered this option before but decided against it. Im sure theyd just bounce you back to CS and if not approved bounced again.

Re: Can you app for a card via Recon Department?

You have some very nice cards (much nicer than any of mine on my siggy) and some really high scores (much higher than mine 640-685 for me).  I think you should get approved for most cards, provided you haven't apped a lot in the last six months and/or have many new accounts in last six months.   I couldn't imagine anyone would have anything negative except INQ or new accounts with scores + 780, but I am not as advanced as most of the people on here, so maybe i'm wrong.
