Can you ask CCCs to pull a specific CRA?

I see references to this being done, but I don't know how it would work. Do you have to apply over the phone? And is it a manual review? Because I have AU cards and my understanding is that only auto approvals consider AUs.

You can't really ask lenders to pull a specific report.

I think you'd be better served by googling the credit pulls database and searching on your best report, your state of residence, and your score to find out what products you're likely to be eligible for.

That's my .02 anyway.  Smiley Happy

Edited based on mod's post that discussion topic was unethical.

I don't have any baddies, it's just that my TU file is thin. I thought I had read about people calling and getting an agent to pull a specific report.

That can sometimes work in your favor - Discover and Amex like thinner files, although they tend to pull Equifax and Experian.

Some lenders will autmatically pull another report if the one they normally pull is thin.

You could also likely request it during the recon process, if the lender indicates not enough history on TU.Of course, this would likely result in another hard pull, but if you are confident in the other reports, it might be worth it if you've already spent an HP that would result in a denial.

But as for getting them to pull a specific report off the bat, I don't think that's an option for you. You would likely have to wait for the recon process.

Ok, I think these conversations were about recons. In those cases, is the application manually approved, or does someone just run it through the computer again? Like I said, I have AU cards, and underwriters have said they ignore AUs in manual reviews.

Recons generally are manual reviews.  They're not going to run it thru the computer again as they already have those results.

I've called in before and most have told me that they can't request a certain bureau to be pulled, it's all automatic
