it's not always that they need your info as much as they're making sure you're the one actually doing it. it's to protect you and them. to be honest i am surprised most lenders don't require better verification. it may prevent so many drapps hahaha
Don't take verification personal. It for your protection and the way companies do business. It's not like someone is sitting there picking on you. It's all automated usually and red flags pop up from your credit report typically that make them request it. Try the prequal again.

I app'd for Venture and they wanted copies of my ID etc, I told them no im already a customer for 3 years. so that went down the drain. That was a pre-approval too lol
Hope i get a better offer next week or month
There are many threads/posts here where folks were offered a 'silly' CLI and turned it down just to be offered significantly more a few weeks later, so don't get discouraged!
I was once offered $200... foolishly, I accepted, but six months later they offered me another $1k. That taught me right there that sometimes holding off can make a big difference.
Side note: There's one 'caveat' to the above (that does not apply to the OP) - if you're approved for a $300 or $500 credit line, and Capital One offers you a $200 increase, I would suggest taking it. ![]()
When requesting a CLI, has anyone received a message that says "you will receive a secure message in 2-3 days"?
Thanks 2011, I just got one a couple of months ago so obviously not surprised. I was looking at other things and said what the heck. First time I saw that and thought I would ask.
