just reading some Cap1 Luv threads...they approved me for 150$ **bleep** lol. Make me want to cancel the stupid account i have w them. Zero balance, run a few thousand through it quarterly and i get this Smiley Sad

I declined it.

What does the rest of your file look like? There's got to be a reason they only offered such a small amount. I have 2 $3500 limits on my QS1 and my Platinum. they may be working off of an old SP for the CLI. I've never been prequaled for the venture Smiley Sad

Re: Cap 1 Surprises me -_-

UNCLEB when i did my double approval in november i got an inquiry on each and 2 on TU... it's arguable who combines them (the lender or bureau) but i seem to think its lender. credit unions can use same pulls for multiple things so that also leads me to believe it's by the lender. however when i did the double approval again on 02/10/16 i only got 1 on each (so far)

I agree, others have occasionally reported the 'trick' not working as well, so it's definitely YMMV.

As for where the actual 'combination' takes place, I don't think anybody really knows for sure (by that I mean, none of us here).  Amex reps will "swear" that they do an HP for each and every app - even those on the same day - and some bloggers on other sites (i.e. Doctor of Credit) seem to believe it's done at the bureau level.  I freely admit that I have no basis to definitively believe one way or another, which is why I try to speak in 'general' terms when I talk about it.

Honestly, as long as it works (or usually works) I'm not going to be too concerned about who's doing it.  I do agree with you, though, that it's certainly arguable, and it would be a fallacy for any of us to say we 'know for certain' how it's done.

However it happens, let's just hope they don't change it!  Smiley Very Happy

When requesting a CLI, has anyone received a message that says "you will receive a secure message in 2-3 days"?

Re: Cap 1 Surprises me -_-

Sorry so late..

I did get 2 HP... as my credit monitoring was going on Creditkarma, myFico, and funny enough Cap1 credit tracker alerted me to the second HP... I was shocked, thought it would be one. Even asked why it was 2 during a chat and was basically told we have to report information accurately to the bureaus and there's nothing we can do to take the 2nd one off

Sooooo SnakeDoctor,

Since you say you app'd for the 2 CC's 1 day apart my question is "Did you get a 2nd HP for the Plat.?"

Trying to understand a timeline for apps within a time frame so it only has the 1 HP across the board.
