EX/EQ still on Ice... No Crack Cap1 approvals for me at this time. Seriously their csr's turn me off this much to turn down a 10k-20k limit.. Normally I would be all over this, I think I just got so tainted by bad CSR's and spoiled by good ones recently. Still think my next app mid year or end of year will be Ritz unless I get the 100k Amex Plat offer.. Might throw in a car, but doesn't count as a CC

Stay strong as better things exist out there for those that wait! MyFico forums goes like this... Every approx 2-3 months a new flavor of the month credit card and/or offer is found and a frenzy happens, then it repeats ever 2-3 months.. This month happens to be Cap1.. two months from now, who knows what it will be
In three months it'll be a First Premier Card with a 10K limit and the max 25% opening fee of 2500 AF. just kidding
Fortunately, I checked the prequalify site and was not approved at this time for the Venture card. I suspect Cap One is throwing its doors open wide to entice all kinds of folks to get in over their heads with the large limits and minimum spend. Then they will clean up on interest fees.
Not going there.
At least not yet
I've been reading all these threads and almost went for it, but then I remembered how infuriating CapOne makes me. Customer for 11 years and it took going to the EO to get a credit limit from $300 to $600. SMH
They did respond to my goodwill recently and agreed to remove 1 old 30 day late but I'm still not buying into them just yet. Thinking I'll keep holding out for the Citi Double Cash although those SL don't seem as high.

Had a 500 cl card from them since 2005 and they never increased it. I asked several times and was always declined. So I closed it two weeks ago After reading all the goofy stuff about the new aprovals I decieded to go for it. I got the 10k Cl with this card.

Based on your credit report from Equifax, credit bureau information is missing or unavailable • Based on your credit report from Experian, credit bureau information is missing or unavailable
These were the only reasons stated on the denial letter.
Interesting, were any of your reports frozen?
Only EX. EQ as I said they did pull but a day after the denial. Waiting for my PIN to come in so I can unfreeze it and possibly try again later.

Why? They have an actual limit on cards they will issue unlike Chase or some other issuers.
By drawing the line in the sand they make it clear what they will and will not bear.

Cap1 Buckets ppl with their existing cards, this is very clear as more and more data comes in.. Sad that they won't grow with you and you have to dump an old card to get a card with a decent limit that is useable.. Poor business model IMO.. Amex is a great business model they will start you out at 1k say and can do 3x61 then 3x180 and so on, thus they grow with you.. Can't really compare apples to oranges though as Cap1 still caters towards the sub-prime and Amex doesn't. Granted obviously Cap1 does have prime products, they just won't let you "graduate" your card.
