They did respond to my goodwill recently and agreed to remove 1 old 30 day late but I'm still not buying into them just yet. Thinking I'll keep holding out for the Citi Double Cash although those SL don't seem as high.
Cap1 Buckets ppl with their existing cards, this is very clear as more and more data comes in.. Sad that they won't grow with you and you have to dump an old card to get a card with a decent limit that is useable.. Poor business model IMO.. Amex is a great business model they will start you out at 1k say and can do 3x61 then 3x180 and so on, thus they grow with you.. Can't really compare apples to oranges though as Cap1 still caters towards the sub-prime and Amex doesn't. Granted obviously Cap1 does have prime products, they just won't let you "graduate" your card.
So does Chase, but at least they allow consolidation of limits.
AMEX excels at taking care of it's cardmembers in ways that only a credit nut can understand.
They have and will be the LAST lender I burn if I ever wind up in a situation where i'd have to do so.

6. I believe including personally guaranteed business cards.
Now back to the venture. as im curious now. i have two cap one cards. a Quicksilver. 3500. and a secured platinum. i only have 49 dollars on it. of my money. but the card is 1k. so 951 in unsecured. now i don't want to cancel secured as it now is my oldest card since i canceled my td bank extra rewards card in november. when i went to the prequal site. It said. we could not find a match for you at this time but you can apply for the Venture or the Venture one was the option i have. i think it can't find cause i already have two cards. anyway. im ok even with out it. as im waiting until june to go for the big 25k with amex. as my limit is already 10.5k on amex delta. just not sure what to think of cap one now. i know many don't like them but my qs. the entire limit is available for cash advance. so i must say i do like my cap one card. and although ive never had problem with customer service. i can see some people that do. anyway. not sure how to proceed further on the venture craze. if i cancel my secured cap one card. not sure i can do it anyway. don't want my score to tank.

I wouldn't worry about prequals as a lot of people are getting approvals without.
Do what you feel like doing with that. The Venture will be there when you're ready to go.

Had a 500 cl card from them since 2005 and they never increased it. I asked several times and was always declined. So I closed it two weeks ago After reading all the goofy stuff about the new aprovals I decieded to go for it. I got the 10k Cl with this card.
That would be great but for me I just feel in another 11 years I will be begging them to raise my 10K limit. Will I have to close that card and reapply again for a higher limit? Not sure I'm interested in always having to play that game with them.

If they won't budge from $600....
I doubt the CLI situation is anywhere near AS bad with the prime cards as it is with the subprime originated cards.
Just takes a few minutes to close the card and another few minutes to open a new one. I think Nixon is correct also, there is only so much they can do with thos subprime cards. Which is nothing.
Looks like the Venture weekend crazy is over, no new approvals that I can see today in the approval thread .. Made it threw without apping
... Woot! Congrats to those that got a great limits, but lousy CSR
..

The maximum limit for revolvers for Amex is 4 but I'm planning to close one this year and reallocate the CL over to my other ones so it will go back down to three. I heard with charge cards though they aren't as strict with how many you can have but I don't plan on having any more than 1 charge card unless I find a use for the Amex Plat.
The other amex Centurion card I have is the PRG and that's about it. Amex has been very good to me ever since I got in with them. Not inquiry sensitive either.
Amex Delta I got in June 2014.
Everyday card in August and the Green card that I closed
BCE in November
Amex PRG and Hilton last month
Propel and Dillards are WF cards, not Centurion ones and I'm gonna see if I can reallocate the Dillards limit over to the Propel and close it out soon.
