I love Cap1, because they was in my BK7 , but approved me for Sec CC, and 1 year later for unsec.card QS1. My Cscore was 589-594-596. Now is lower ,because of 3 HP ;
587-570-596 , but I got QS1 -3K, and my Sec,Card is $ 800, and Barcklay rewards- $ 500...Now I have to relax in the garden till Dec.2015.
My advice is , wait, just a few more months...

Do NOT apply for the QS card - the Cap One pre-qualifier is one of the most reliable one around. If it matches you with an offer it's 99% you'll be approved,, but if says you can't be matched don't apply - it's a hard pull & you'll likely be declined. All the pre-qualifiers (Chase, Citi, Amex, BofA, Cap One) suggest you apply if they don't match you with a card - nothing for them to lose, maybe they missed something, but for you you'll likely waste in inquiry on your CR and be declined. And never ever use the Discover alleged "pre-qualifier", you can put in totally fake info and it will still ciaim Discover IT is perfect for you, and then turn you down faster than a high school prom queen turning down the school nerd for a date.
I just checked it, and got the message that I'm pre-qualified for the QS. Already have the QS One, and wasn't planning on any new cards for a while, but I couldn't resist. Approved with a 3K limit. Okay, now I'm done for a while.

Now you can close the QS1 and live AF free.

It's my oldest card at 7 years, so I think I'll wait a while until my accounts age. Four of the six are under one year old.

Well at least call CapOne up and have them remove the AF.
I would see waht cards you pre qualify for with capital one. It is not a hard pull only a soft until you complete the whole application applying for credit. I would give it a try. You never know what could happen. I was approved for two Capital One cards in less than a week apart. Good luck.
I would close the QS with the AF. Why in the world would you keep it open, and pay an AF, for a card that you now have the identical no AF version?
Unless they'll waive the AF but you have the no AF version now so there's little point. Since Capital One doesn't combine limits, I would just close it, considering it will report on your reports for 10 years anyway so AAOA is not a big deal here
